3D Sets at FAB25 and Fab Festival

Two days packed with ideas and people who either take 3D printing seriously — or are just seriously excited to dive in. On Thursday, we talked. On Friday, we raced.
We met so many inspiring folks – from global FabLab creators and maker influencers to librarians looking for meaningful ways to use their 3D printers. And the whole event had a kind of energy that reassured us: 3D Sets really has something to offer beyond our usual bubble.

Day One: Our debut at the FAB25 conference

Thursday was our first-ever talk at a global FabLab event. Jirka took the stage at FAB25, among an inspiring crowd of makers, educators, and innovators from around the world. The atmosphere was relaxed, the format spontaneous, and while the audience was more intimate than expected, it gave us a chance for real, meaningful exchange.

We shared our journey, our purpose, and where 3D Sets is heading next. And despite the casual start, the response said it all – we hit the right note.

Day Two: Fab Festival and crowds at our booth

Friday was a different story. Fab Festival opened its gates to the public, and from the morning on, our booth was buzzing. Big thanks to our awesome friends at SPTM for lending out Rescuers and helping run the RC track.

We handed out 30 boxes of Sandy Mini kits – fully printed and ready to build – to kids who completed a short driving challenge. Suddenly, the quietest visitors turned into competitive drivers. For many, it was their very first time with an RC model. Judging by the smiles, it won’t be their last.

The interest surprised us. Or rather: caught us off guard in the best way possible. Not just from the maker crowd, but also from total beginners who just came to “check out those 3D printed cars” – and left dreaming about building their own garage. That’s the kind of reaction we love. 😁

What did we take away?

Tons of contacts, great conversations, and loads of inspiration. We walked away more convinced than ever that what we do has reach – and that 3D Sets can speak to people far beyond our usual bubble.

Because in the end, it’s not just about the models. It’s about stories, about hands that build, and about people ready to give it a go.
